Day Camp

A summer experience for kids who want to have fun with horses!

 

Dates: Day camp will be held from June, 2011 to August, 2011 every weekday.  Campers should arrive at 9:00 A.M. and be picked up by 4:00 P.M.

 

Location: Madison WI

 

Camp Program: All levels of riders are welcome.  Campers will learn the responsibilities of having a horse, receive daily riding instruction, and learn how to care, handle, and manage a horse in a safe and encouraging environment.

 

Typical Day:

·        Campers arrive and help with barn chores

·        Retrieve horses and learn to safely catch, halter, lead, tie, groom, and tack up a horse

·        First riding lesson of the day

·        Lunch break

·        Horse related activity (video, a horse science lesson) or craft project

·        Fun & Games riding lesson with a counselor

 

What to Bring:

·        A long pair of pants (or breeches)

·        A light jacket if weather is somewhat chilly

·        A hat for the sun

·        Sunscreen

·        A water bottle

·        Boots with a raised heel and a smooth sole for riding

·        A sack lunch. 

 

Phoenix Training Center provides S.E.I certified riding helmets, but campers may bring their own certified helmets if they wish to do so (bike helmets are not acceptable).  Please do not wear loose clothing, jewelry, or bring anything of great value for safety purposes.

 

Prices:  For a single child attending one day of camp the price is $70.00.  For a single child attending three days of camp (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) the price is $210.00.   You can sign up for as few as one day or fill the entire summer with fun!
